| How does Night Vision work? |
| The objective lens collects light and focuses it on the image intensifier tube. Inside the image intensifier tube, a photocathode absorbs this light energy and converts it to electrons. These electrons are then drawn through the microchannel plate that multiplies them thousands of times, and displays them on the phosphor screen. The bright nighttime image you see in the eyepiece corresponds precisely to the scene you are viewing. To learn more about how night vision works Click Here. |

| Can I use night vision in complete darkness? |
| Though it is true that night vision devices require little light, it is possible to use them in complete darkness with help of an IR Illuminator. Since most of the time you encounter complete darkness in enclosed environments, high magnification power is not a necessity, you'd rather be able to see at a very close range. In this case the most effective viewing device are goggles. Most goggles have magnification power of 1, built-in IR Illuminator, close focus and a viewing range of a few yards. |
| Is it safe to use an IR Illuminator ? |
| If your goal is stealthy observation and surveillance, an IR Illuminator only has the potential to reveal your position. While they are worthy tools, they can defeat your purpose and expose your surveillance positions to your subject |
